Changu Narayan Temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Nepal, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the preserver and defender of the universe according to Hindu belief. It was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 due to its historical, cultural, architectural, and religious importance.

The temple is located on the hills of Changu Narayan in Nepal's Bhaktapur district. It's roughly 7 kilometers east of Kathmandu district. It was built in the fourth century.

Changu Narayan Temple is known for its architectural beauty and stunning wood and stone decorations. It is made up of multiple shrines, courtyards, and a main sanctuary. Brahmin, Chhetri, Tamang, Newar, and other ethnic groups stay inside and outside of this temple.
